Before booking a service, I will come to your home and review your upcoming project. I will answer any questions or concerns you may have and explain the process we'll go through. I will never pressure you or make you start a project you aren't ready for.

Let's Chat!

I will:

  • Eliminate clutter.

  • Assist in sorting and purging items.

  • Maximize existing storage space.

  • Create new storage space if needed.

  • Re-create a space if needed (baby room, guest room, home office, etc.).

  • Create a personal, customized guide for sustaining organization.

  • Leave you with a space you can be comfortable in.

Having clutter in or around your home can weigh heavy on your mind. I get it, we've all been there. A stack of papers here, a pile of shoes there. Small areas seem to get smaller and smaller as we add more items to it. We say to ourselves, "I'll get to that later", but "later" never comes. Just the thought of starting a project makes us tired! I'm no different. As organized as I am in my own home, there always seems to be some kind of clutter that needs tending to.

I can't promise that once a space is organized, it will stay that way forever, that's just not the reality of life, and I understand that. What I can promise, is that once I organize your space, it will be much easier and faster to keep that space organized.

Clutter isn't necessarily a fault of your own, it happens to everyone. The only difference between me, as a professional organizer, and someone who struggles with clutter is our education on the matter. I have spent many hours studying ways to create better habits in the household, learning ways to create more helpful storage systems and understanding that daily cleanup needs to be more intentional than time consuming.

I'm aware that every household has different needs, there isn't a "one size fits all" answer to your space. I will learn what is important to your household, how much time you comfortably have to tend to your space and what systems will best fit your lifestyle.

Sometimes all you needs is a helping hand and some useful information to create and keep a space you can be proud of.

I will:

  • Assist in determining what simple living means in your life: minimalism, zero-waste, plastic-free, chemical-free, less consumerism, etc.

  • Transform your space to meet your own idea of happiness.

  • Make the process fun, calming and rewarding.

“The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.”

- Hans Hofmann, Introduction to the Bootstrap, 1993

This service is perfectly tailored to what you want simpler living to mean in your life. Below are some starting points for your journey. You can choose to incorporate one idea, all of them or we can develop and execute your unique destination into this service.

Minimalism

Recently, minimalism has gained a bad rap to many people in our modern world. With this idea that minimalists are sacrificing things in their lives or they are not taking advantage of all this world has to offer. Minimalism is actually quite the opposite of that. Being a minimalist means you have more of what you need, and can enjoy those things completely. It can lead to a less stressful life and can give value to yourself and those you care about.

It is not an end all of shopping, things or clutter in your life. It’s about discovering yourself and connecting to the things in your life you truly love. It focuses on creating a lifestyle that is streamlined and includes only the people and possessions that enrich you. It's about uncovering your happiness.

You can decide how much of a minimalist lifestyle you want to create. We can go in stages or do it all at once. However you feel the most comfortable, I will to be there with you throughout your entire journey.

Journey Toward Zero-Waste

Zero-waste living isn't this notion that a years’ worth of trash needs to fit into a single glass jar. That's absurd and somewhat unattainable for most of us. What zero-waste is, is a journey and, at its core, challenges you to evaluate your lifestyle and to reflect on how consumerist habits are negatively impacting the environment. You will need to be willing to change your consumption habits and invest in a society that is built on sustainability, ethics and transparency.

Convenient plastics and disposable products have become detrimental to our planet’s health and to the societies and animals across the globe. Our disposable society has completely disassociated us from our waste. We are convinced that we need more “stuff” to be happy. Trash and recycling are picked up from the curb never to be seen again. But our landfills are overflowing, our oceans are littered, and we are left with billions of tons of waste that won’t break down in our lifetime and cannot be recycled. We have reached a point where the zero-waste movement is truly necessary to safeguard the future of our planet.

I will incorporate my 8 R's into your home and your lifestyle

  • Refuse

  • Reduce

  • Repair

  • Reuse

  • Repurpose

  • Replace

  • Rot

  • Recycle

Plastic-Free Lifestyle

Disposable plastic items are so common that it’s easy not to notice them. They’re everywhere; plastic bottles, plastic straws, plastic bags, plastic cups, plastic utensils, and plastic packaging. Opening your eyes to what those items truly are, plastic pollution, is the first step in this journey. The next step is knowledge. Our societal lack of understanding on this issue has contributed to the monumental problem we are all now living in.

The reality is that we are reaching capacity in our landfills

  • Americans throw away 35 billion plastic water bottles every year

  • Plastic in the ocean breaks down into such small segments that pieces of plastic from a one liter bottle could end up on every mile of beach throughout the world.

  • It takes 500-1,000 years for plastic to degrade.

  • Billions of pounds of plastic can be found in swirling convergences in the oceans making up about 40 percent of the world's ocean surfaces.

  • 80 percent of pollution enters the ocean from the land.

  • The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is in the North Pacific Gyre off the coast of California and is the largest ocean garbage site in the world. This floating mass of plastic is twice the size of Texas, with plastic pieces outnumbering sea life six to one.

  • One million sea birds and 100,000 marine mammals are killed annually from plastic in our oceans.

  • Virtually every piece of plastic that was ever made still exists in some shape or form

  • Plastic chemicals can be absorbed by the body with 93% of Americans age six or older testing positive for BPA (a plastic chemical).

  • The highest recycling rates are in Europe (30%) and China (25%) whereas the United States has had a relatively dismal rate of 9% since 2012. Even so, only 9% of all the plastics that have ever been produced have been recycled and only 10% of that amount (less than 1%) has been recycled more than once.

  • 5 trillion plastic bags are produced yearly.

  • In 2008, a sperm whale was found beached in California. It died due to the more than 22 kilos of plastic found in its stomach.

  • Plastic bags remain toxic even after it breaks down. It doesn’t biodegrade, it photo-degrades. Meaning it breaks down into smaller and smaller toxic bits of itself and bleeds and contaminates the environment.

Each time you say no to a straw or bring your own bag to the supermarket, you’re taking your impact into your own hands. Empowered actions make us feel good because we’re living in alignment with something we believe in.

I will help transform your home and give you the knowledge and resources to move forward in your journey toward a happier planet.

Home Staging

I will:

  • Assist in ridding unwanted items.

  • Assist in putting away items anticipated to keep but not necessary for staging.

  • Prepare each room according to its’ use and condition.

  • Add touches that will help your home stand out from the rest.

Home Staging Consultations

I will:

  • Create a complete list of staging recommendations for each area of your home, after a complete evaluation

Home Staging is one of the most effective strategies to selling your home, it ensures the buyers see themselves in your home, while they contemplate one of the biggest purchases of their lives. Without a well thought out staged home, most potential buyers get distracted by personal photos, vibrant paint colors, or a bedroom that has been transformed into a man cave. While your home was a wonderful reflection of you, a staged home becomes a fresh slate for a new family.

Your home is now a commodity and should be treated as such. You may have spent many years adding personal touches to make your home beautiful to you, which can create a blind eye to what buyers are looking for. Bringing in a neutral party, like me, can help make staging a quicker and more beneficial process. I have the knowledge and understanding to create a home worth buying.

4 Staging Facts

  • Staged homes sell for more than 6% above the asking price

  • Once staged, homes spend an average of 73% less time on the market

  • 81% of buyers say home staging makes it easier to visualize the property as their future home

  • The longer homes stay on the market, the further their price drops

I will:

  • Assist in non-packing tasks; change of address, cancellation of services, donations, etc.

  • Assist is decluttering your belongings so nothing unnecessary is moved.

I have created an extensive list of tasks to be completed, guaranteeing your move to be a successful one. With me on your team, this transition in your life will surely be an easy one.

4 Reasons to Hire a Professional

  • Reduce your belongings weight - Whether your moving truck or movers charge by weight or you've employed friends to lend a helping hand, reducing your moving weight is extremely beneficial. Before moving, I will purge your home, making sure nothing unnecessary is moved. This is also a good time to evaluate your furniture. Could you use a new couch, or maybe the kids need bigger beds, whatever it may be, I will help evaluate those items with you.

  • I work so you can stay in work - Moving is extremely time consuming. The months before hand, during and the months after a move is filled with tasks that require your attention. Wouldn't it be great to have a reliable, competent professional on your side, taking care of those tasks for you while not losing time or money at work?

 I will:

  • Organize all your digital photos.

  • Clean up all duplicate and unwanted photos.

  • Create easy to use, easy to find files.

  • Utilize an external backup.

  • Create an easy, step-by-step photo guide, ensuring you stay organized.

  • Organize all printed photos.

  • Restore/Scan any printed photos you would like to protect.

  • Display Printed photos in an album to help preserve and organize them.

In this world of fast photos, we tend to accumulate them fairly quickly. When our storage gets full, we dump them and keep shooting. Our favorite photos get lost in the crowd while the pile grows so big that organizing can seem never ending. At the same time, your printed photos start collecting dust, and the idea of organizing, then displaying them is too overwhelming.

I understand how important your photos are. They capture memories you want to share for generations to come. Organizing, scanning and documenting your photos now, will only ensure your precious moments are preserved for a lifetime.

Why Hire an Organizer?

  • To Save you Time - Getting a handle on thousands of digital and printed photos is extremely time consuming. And I know you have better things to do; family to spend time with, friends to enjoy and work to do. I can alleviate the stress while leaving you with a system you can easily manage in the future.

  • Once and Done - With the overwhelming amount of photos to sift through, it's important it's done right the first time. With my experience, I can organize and protect your photos quickly and correctly from the beginning.

I will:

  • Gather, organize, protect and file all important documents for you and your household

There are over 70 important documents one household can accumulate. Having these items in a safe, organized place will give you peace of mind, knowing that if something were to happen, your loved ones will have everything they need at their fingertips. This service might be the most important service I offer and one of my favorites!

It’s worth the time and effort it takes to get organized.

Imagine never having to scramble for important documents again. Items you didn't even know you needed to keep, will all be in one, easy to access, spot. Want to sell your car? Wouldn't it be nice if you had every receipt, for work done, to give to the potential buyers? Forgot your password to your banking app? Don't go through the run around of trying to gain access, you'll have that information at your finger tips.

I have spent many hours researching and working on creating a complete and thorough household checklist!

Some people call the legacy drawer a “love drawer”. Along with having access to your records, this is also one final way to show your love to your surviving family members. When the inevitable happens, understand that your loved ones will probably not be thinking very clearly. Grief clouds our minds and having a legacy drawer can at least help make the financial aspects of your passing a little easier for those you leave behind.

Much like a monthly cleaning service,

I will:

  • Go back to your space, listen to and discuss all your issues, regarding your previous service.

  • Tweak any system, as needed.

  • Bring in different elements to your space to help keep you on track.

  • Send helpful information to help you change any habits that may be getting in the way of your final goal.

It’s bound to happen. At some point, your perfectly planned system will start drifting off track. It’s Okay. Take a deep breath and look around. Has it been a crazy month, or is the system just not as perfect as it looked? Whatever the case may be, I will follow-up as necessary.

This service is booked at one 4-hour session every month. You can cancel at any time.
